This coffee is rich and syrupy with caramel and orange notes.

La Esperanza farm was established 31 years ago by producers William Buitrago and Aminta Mahocha Franco. The beautiful property sits on the steep valley walls of the Rio La China, a small river that’s used as a water source to grow and process the family’s coffee.

To compensate for the area’s cool climate, William and Aminta plant their coffee trees further apart than is typical, so that each tree receives adequate sunlight. While this reduces their overall yield, it ensures the coffee is of a high quality, which is a top priority for the couple.

As well as being a coffee farmer, William is an avid apiarist, with 30 beehives. According to William, the bees and the coffee are very connected, with the coffee blossoms contributing to the clear, sweet quality of the honey, and the bees pollinating the coffee trees.

In the cup, we love this coffee’s rich, syrupy body and caramel sweetness. We hope you enjoy!
