This is our newest (and smallest) shop, located in the iconic, art deco Mitchell House building right in the heart of Melbourne’s bustling CBD.
Our Mitchell House shop is open 7 days a week. We offer a full range of filter and espresso drinks at this location, both hot and iced, and we also retail freshly roasted coffee beans and Market Lane Tote Bags. There is a small standing bar in the window for sipping a coffee and watching the world go by, and a public bench out the front for perching and enjoying a freshly brewed coffee.
For the shop design, we partnered with Sarah Trotter of AOA Christopher Peck, who worked to honour the architectural significance of the building in giving the shop space new life. Soft, buttery colours, curved forms, brass fixtures, and a feature light from Volker Haug & Flack Studio create a cosy, warm and luminous cafe space that almost glows when seen from the street.
With its Streamline Modern design, terrazzo flooring and gilded lettering, Mitchell House is as inspiring inside as out – it’s home to the studios, offices and shops of a community of amazing Melbourne creatives, and we’re so excited to be part of this community. Come visit us for a coffee soon!
