This shop is located on Victoria Street and is part of the Queen Victoria Market, a beloved and historic Melbourne food institution. This cafe is open seven days a week.
Our Victoria St shop has a full menu of espresso and filter coffees on offer, as well as beans, ceramics and brewing equipment for sale. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the food menu includes a delicious selection of cakes and biscuits from Söt by Mörk and pastries from Tivoli Road Bakery.
We worked with the wonderful Sarah Trotter and her design team at Hearth Studio to create the look and feel of this Victoria Street cafe in Queen Victoria Market. Warm red and orange colours were selected for the interior to reflect the red brick and heritage colour schemes of the market, and the painted teal trusses in the Dairy Hall inspired the blue hues and shop lighting. The use of a gorgeous patterned linen curtain – designed by talented artist and friend of Market Lane Coffee, Julia Stewart – was informed by Victorian upholstery fabrics.
We’ve always wanted to open a shop where our customers can sit right up at the bar and enjoy their coffee, while our baristas keep busy doing what they do best. This is that shop! It’s a place to pause and drink a delicious coffee, load up on beans for home, and chat to our friendly team and other market shoppers.
