As our coffee offering changes seasonally to ensure you’re brewing the freshest beans, our bundle line-up changes accordingly. In this bundle, you’ll get one 250g bag of Sol de la Mañana from Bolivia and one 250g bag of La Esperanza from Colombia.
Sol de la Mañana is a visionary training program founded by our Bolivian supply partners, the Rodríguez family, after some local small-scale producers approached them, asking for farming advice and guidance. The family created a comprehensive curriculum, which includes instruction on plant cultivation and coffee-picking, as well as farm visits from a leading agronomist. The impact of the training program has been profound – participants have seen a significant improvement in their coffee, and they’re now able to receive sustainable prices from quality-focused roasters. This delicious peaberry lot was grown by five of the program’s participants. It has a smooth mouthfeel with notes of hazelnut praline and cherry.
La Esperanza farm was established 31 years ago by producers William Buitrago and Aminta Mahocha Franco. Located in Colombia’s Ibagué area, the beautiful property sits on the steep valley walls of the Rio La China, a small river that’s used as a water source to grow and process the family’s coffee. To compensate for the area’s cool climate, William and Aminta plant their coffee trees further apart than is typical, so that each tree receives adequate sunlight. While this reduces their overall yield, it ensures the coffee is of a high quality, which is a top priority for the couple. In the cup, this beautiful coffee has a toffee sweetness with dried apricot and honeydew melon notes.
