Enjoy two of our filter coffees with this special coffee bundle, perfect for those who brew using filter methods like pour over, Aeropress, plunger and Moccamaster. As our coffee offering changes seasonally to ensure you’re brewing the freshest beans, our bundle line-up changes accordingly. In this bundle, you’ll get one 250g bag of El Faldón from Colombia and one 250g bag of Mbilima from Rwanda.
Located in the hills outside the remote town of La Noque, El Faldón farm’s cool climate and high elevations contribute to the delicious coffees produced there. Producer Rubén Darío Gómez and his wife Rosa Eleny have worked tirelessly to expand their coffee plantation, continually innovating and investing in their farm and its supporting infrastructure. All their hard work and dedication have paid off – the pair now produce outstanding coffees and they work with our sourcing partners at Pergamino, who connect them with international roasters and help them access higher premiums for their lots. We’re very excited to be offering coffee from El Faldón for the first time this season. We hope you love this sweet, vibrant, fruit-forward coffee as much as we do!
Mbilima is produced by our long-time partners, the Dukunde Kawa Cooperative, in Rwanda’s Northern Province. This organic lot was grown by small-scale farmer-members, who delivered their ripe coffee cherries to the co-op’s Mbilima washing station at harvest time. The coffee was then carefully wash processed by the washing station team under the guidance of long-time manager Jean Bosco Habimana. This microlot is made up of peaberry beans. While a coffee cherry usually develops with two flat-sided seeds inside, it will occasionally produce a single round seed, known as a peaberry. As is typical of Rwandan peaberry lots, these are small beans with a big flavour! In the cup, Mbilima has a sparkling acidity and it’s bursting with vibrant fruit and floral notes.
