FAQs for Coffee Brewing and Roasting Classes

Where are the classes located?

Our coffee classes are held at two locations. Our CBD shop is at 8 Collins Street, Melbourne, close to Parliament Station. The classes are held when the shop is closed to customers so we have full access to the space and equipment. Classes at our Weston Street roastery are held in the training room, just off Lygon St in Brunswick East. This training room is set up just like our shops, and is the space we use for staff training and testing new recipes.

How can I reschedule my class?

If you’re already booked into a class and need to change the date and time, it’s an easy fix! Just give our office a call on (03) 9804 7434 or email us at hello@marketlane.com.au, and we’ll book you into another session.

I want to give a class as a gift. How can I organise this?

How thoughtful of you – we think our classes make a great gift! There are two ways to organise this. The first is to purchase a gift voucher that enables to recipient to book into a class at a time that suits them. This digital voucher will be sent to your inbox after the order is completed, so you can then give to the lucky recipient when the time is right.

The second option is to book them into a class at a time you think suits (this can be easily changed later, just give us a call). Get in touch with us after the booking, with the order details, and we'll send you a digital voucher with all the details so you can give to the lucky recipient. (Please note that we can only fulfil these requests within office hours.)

I am already booked in for a class, can I bring someone along?

Yes, you can! As long as there are more spaces available for that session. If there are still class spots available on the website, the quickest way to secure a spot is to purchase it online. If there are no extra spots available, the best option is to reschedule for a different date or time. It’s super easy and we are happy to help you find a time that suits. Can I book a private class as an event?

Definitely. Just contact us at hello@marketlane.com.au and we can help you tailor an event or training specifically to your needs at a date and time that suit you.

Do I get a qualification for completing a class?

Our classes are tailored for home baristas and coffee enthusiasts. If you’re curious about specialty coffee as a job, this class will give you some useful pointers and insight into how we approach coffee-making. However, these classes are not a certified course that qualifies you to be a barista.

I have a question about my class. Who should I contact?
