This coffee has notes of strawberry and cherry with a vanilla finish.

This sweet and fruit-forward coffee was grown by small-scale farmers near the village of Werka in the Sidama region. At harvest time, these growers pick and deliver their ripe coffee cherries to the Aash washing station. This lot was then expertly processed using the natural method: the cherries were dried whole, in the sun, with the beans still inside.

The Aash washing station sits on the edge of the evergreen Harenna forest in Ethiopia’s Bale mountain range. The microclimate of this region is heavily influenced by the forest, with cooler and wetter conditions than in most of Ethiopia. These conditions, combined with the careful work of the farmers and the Aash team, have resulted in a dense and vibrant coffee that is both refined and expressive.
