This microlot was produced by Hernando Díaz and his family at their 17-hectare farm La Manuelita, which sits close to the imposing beauty of Colombia’s largest volcano, Nevado del Huila, in Colombia’s state of Huila. Like many of his neighbours, Hernando farms his coffee with traditional techniques, prioritising manual weeding and rarely using pesticides. The family also raise cattle, who are looked after with the same degree of care given to their coffee. By diversifying the farm’s production, Hernando ensures stability and a steady income year-round. This lot was selectively hand-harvested – with most of the labour provided by Hernando and his family – and washed processed at their on-site mill. It was then distributed through our export partners, Pergamino, who work closely with specialty producers to provide them with fair, reliable prices.
