This coffee tastes like milk chocolate with nectarine and brown sugar.

70% of this blend is made up of Familia Rodríguez from Colombia’s Nariño region. This coffee was produced by four brothers – Jairo, Ulpiano,Alirio and Luis Omar – from the Rodríguez family: an influentialcoffee-producing family from the town of Buesaco in the state of Nariño, Colombia. The brothers own small farms (averaging two hectares in size) that sit at an elevation of 2000–2200 above sea level.

The Rodríguez brothers share a trajectory with many other coffee farmers in their region. Though they are originally from Nariño, they left the area in the 1990s due to the armed conflict between the government an FARC guerrillas. In the early 2000s, they were able to return to their farm in Buesaco; they divided the land between them and planted it with coffee. The brothers have found specialty coffee, finally, to be a sustainable and secure source of income for their families.

30% of this blend is El Fuerte, grown by Pedro Rodriguez and his team outside of the town of Samaipata in Bolivia. Pedro and his children Daniela and Pedro Pablo have worked tirelessly for years to build a market for Bolivian specialty coffee. As well as running an exporting company and a training program for smallholder producers, the family has 12 meticulously run coffee farms, which increase the amount of Bolivian coffee available, and are used as ‘model farms’ to teach other producers best agricultural practices.

The Samaipata area was historically a food-growing region, and wasn’t known for coffee production at all. Pedro changed that when he planted coffee in the area in 2013 to see if it might be a viable crop. He soon discovered that coffee thrived in the region, producing a distinctive and exceptional cup profile. The family has since invested further in Samaipata, establishing four more farms, and building two wet mills, which are both located at El Fuerte farm.

Our Seasonal Blend is designed to be versatile – it tastes delicious when enjoyed on its own, as well as when paired with milk. In the cup, you’ll find notes of milk chocolate with nectarine and brown sugar.

Luis Omar is one of the four brothers who produced Familia Rodríguez in Buesaco, Colombia.

The Buesaco area sits 2000 – 2200 metres above sea level.

Like all of Pedro’s farms, El Fuerte is beautiful and meticulously organised.
