This delicious espresso blend features two fresh-crop Colombian coffees produced by two special communities of small-scale farmers.
85% of this blend was produced by 15 small producers who are members of AMACA, a dynamic, women-led association, who grow and process coffee in the state of Cauca. AMACA was founded 25 years ago by two visionary women, Luz Marina and Luz Mila, who saw an opportunity for women in the region to work collectively to improve the quality and distribution of their crops. Today, they are one of the only independently run women only- coffee associations, and stand as a symbol of empowerment, social change and community work. This rich, full-bodied coffee makes a fantastic base for this espresso.
The remaining 15% of this blend comes from the combined harvest of 30 small producers, members of the ASOBOMBO collective, who farm close to the town of El Bombo in Colombia's state of Huila. El Bombo is one of the smallest towns in the area, and most of its producers farm on a hectare of land, or less. Both of these coffees were sourced with the help of Pergamino, our long-time trusted export partner in Colombia, who connects us to exceptional coffees while guaranteeing traceability and transparent pricing structures.
These two coffees have been blended together to create a delicious, versatile espresso that works beautifully on its own and with milk.
