This exquisite coffee comes from Faith – a two-hectare estate in Kirinyaga, Kenya, which is owned by Cecilia Wanjiku Haniel. Cecilia is an extraordinary woman and one of the area’s most influential coffee producers. Due to the tiny scale and exceptional quality of her crop, Cecilia’s coffee is always highly sought after. Alongside this, she is widely admired as a pillar in her local community and has spent years helping her neighbours by generously sharing her knowledge and expertise.
She named her property Faith Estate because, she says, coffee farming “took faith, of having a dream from my childhood, and then accomplishing it as an adult.” When we asked Cecilia about her hopes for the future, she told us: “I want Faith Estate to grow and also for my children and grandchildren to embrace what I have done.” We were so lucky to spend time with Cecilia on our last visit to Kenya, and we hope that you enjoy her beautiful coffee.
