This coffee was produced by eight smallholder producers who farm close to the town of China Alta in Colombia’s state of Tolima. We sourced it through our Colombian supply partners, Pergamino – a family-owned, values-led business who connect quality-focused roasters with incredible producers, like those of China Alta. Through their ongoing support of small-scale growers, Pergamino help to ensure that specialty coffee is a viable and sustainable option for some of Colombia’s most remote farming communities. Over the last few decades, the China Alta area has gained recognition for the high cup quality, sweetness and complexity of the coffees produced here. This lot is a beautiful example of the region’s output. It’s full-bodied and vibrant, with a distinct taste of place.
