2023 marks 12 years of our coffee partnership with Luis ‘Wicho’ Valdés and Santa Isabel Estate. The 300-hectare farm sits in Guatemala’s Alta Verapaz department, where the lush rainforest, cool climate and plentiful rainfall create fantastic conditions for growing coffee.

Wicho is a fifth-generation producer who runs Santa Isabel with great care and a close attention to detail. In recent years, he’s been working hard to make his farming processes more sustainable. Through the application of natural microorganisms to the coffee trees, he has managed to cut out all use of pesticides and most of his fungicide reliance. This progressive approach has also led to healthier trees that then produce higher quality coffee.

This espresso coffee is a special selection from Santa Isabel Estate. Each day lot from the farm was cupped, and the sweetest ones were selected and combined to create this rich, sweet and elegant coffee.

We’ve been offering coffees from Luis ‘Wicho’ Valdés at Santa Isabel Estate since 2011.
