We’ve been working with Leo Henao for many years in his role as Director of Coffee at Pergamino, our Colombian sourcing partner. Leo is warm, passionate and deeply knowledgeable; he is an expert in agronomy with a specialisation in coffee fermentation. He is also deeply community-focused and plays a special and supportive role for many of the producers he works with via Pergamino.
Leo, alongside his wife Jenny, is also a coffee producer. The duo owned Los Palomos in Urrao (a coffee that placed first in the Cup of Excellence and featured on our menu for many years) and after selling it they bought a new farm in Santa Barbara, naming it El Jardín after the garden of the Greek philosopher, Epicurus. Epicureanism celebrates the pursuit of simple, thoughtful pleasure – and we think this Chiroso variety coffee perfectly captures that spirit – it’s sweet, abundantly floral and a delight to drink.
