This coffee has notes of walnut and plum with a milk chocolate sweetness.

Fazenda Progresso is a beautiful estate, set high in the Chapada Diamantina mountain range in Bahia, Brazil. The Borré family have been farming here since the 1980s, and over the last two decades they have become leading producers of high-quality coffee and more recently, wine in the region.

Fabiano Borré is the third generation to lead the family business. He spearheaded both the coffee and wine programs on the estate, driven by a passion to showcase the magnificent potential of this region. A visionary and anchor in his community, Fabiano leads with ambition and responsibility. He holds a genuine sense of duty to his team, his community, and the natural environment that sustains everything he produces. That balance of excellence and care defines his approach to everything he does.

The impact of Fabiano’s work is profound and was recognised formally last year when he was given the Citizen of Bahia award for outstanding contributions to agriculture, community, culture, tourism, and economy in Chapada Diamantina.

We have worked with Fabiano and his family every year since 2015 and adore their coffee. This particular lot is a naturally processed coffee from their farm, which means the ripe cherries were dried whole, with the beans still inside. The conditions to produce coffee in this way were particularly favourable this year as there was very little rain. This coffee’s balance and body make it perfect for espresso applications. It tastes delicious on its own and also pairs beautifully with milk.
