Two Sweet & Distinctive Ethiopian Coffees

2024 is the 7th consecutive year that we've shared beautiful coffees from Testi Coffee in Ethiopia.

Founded in 2009, Testi is a family business that establishes washing stations in areas with favourable coffee-producing conditions and sources coffee from quality-focused growers; paying fair and sustainable prices for those coffees, and processing them with great care.

We currently have two coffees from Testi on our menu — Yaye, roasted for filter brewing, and Werka for espresso drinkers.

500 farmers deliver their coffee cherries to Testi's Yaye washing station in the Sidama region. This lot from Yaye was processed using the natural method - the cherries were sun-dried in the fruit and turned regularly to ensure an even and consistent dry. The result is a floral and distinct filter coffee with notes of cherry and purple grape.

Werka was grown by 750 small-scale farmers in the West Arsi region and delivered to Testi's Aash washing station, where it was carefully wash-processed. This sweet and satisfying espresso has a lovely stone fruit acidity with notes of dried apricot and orange.
