Fitzroy North – St Georges Rd

Before opening, we had long loved the St Georges Rd strip and went out of our way to visit its wonderful shops, pubs, bakery, wine bars, garden and library.

We wanted this space to feel like a familiar, favourite lounge room; somewhere that is cosy and inclusive, protected yet welcoming. Inspired by the area’s rich cultural history, the shop's design – by Goss Studios and Curve Build + Design – also references the wave of European migration that shaped Fitzroy North and its surrounding suburbs since the 1950s.

Materials were carefully selected to bring a sense of comfort, richness and warmth. The walls are lined with warm spotted gum, while the stainless steel has been tumbled to bring softness and reflect the rich tones of the hand-poured terrazzo floor and chocolate toned cork. The bench seats are designed to bring people together, to encourage conversation and chance meetings between neighbours and friends. Our artwork and record collection is personal and curated, and we have filled the shelves in the reading room with our favourite magazines and books for adults and kids alike.

It already feels like our second home, where we have the chance to welcome old and new friends alike.

Our St Georges Rd shop is open 7 days a week. Here, we offer a full range of filter and espresso drinks, both hot and iced. We also retail freshly roasted coffee beans and Market Lane Tote Bags.
