The Rodríguez family in Bolivia have 12 coffee farms – some of the most organised and beautiful farms we’ve seen. The coffee trees are meticulously spaced out in neat rows and grouped by variety, making picking and lot separation easier. The trees themselves are lush and healthy and produce exceptional quality and yields. The family have invested a lot of effort into making sure their farms can be used as model farms for smaller-scale producers to learn from.
This microlot is made up of peaberry beans – small, round beans that deliver a big flavour. As volumes are limited, this lot is a blend of Java-variety peaberries from three of the family’s Caranavi-area farms: La Linda, La Llama, and Waliki.
The Java variety is famous and prized worldwide for its elegant, well-balanced cup profile. This super special variety combined with the Rodríguez family’s fastidious work has resulted in a beautifully sweet, clean and vibrant coffee in the cup.
