This coffee is juicy and complex with notes of nectarine, plum and honeycomb.

Late last year, on our visit to Colombia to taste and select coffees, we were drawn to some Pink Bourbon variety lots that showcased pretty florals, elegant sweetness and defined complexity on the cupping table.

La Loma is the second Pink Bourbon lot in our line-up this season. It was produced by Wilmer Moncayo and Yenni Anacona on their 6.5-hectare farm in south-west Huila. While Pink Bourbon is an Ethiopian landrace variety, it thrives in this part of Colombia – and Pink Bourbon lots from this region are now highly sought after.

We sourced this coffee through Pergamino, a family-run business that works closely with farmers, giving feedback on quality and providing top-up payments for lots that fetch high premiums. Transparent relationships like this enable us to access and offer beautiful coffees, while helping to make coffee production a sustainable, financially viable choice for small-scale producers like Wilmer and Yenni.
