Description

Enjoy two of our filter coffees with this special filter coffee bundle! As our coffee offering changes seasonally to ensure you’re brewing the freshest beans, our bundle line-up changes accordingly. In this bundle you’ll get one 250g bag of Twitezimbere from Rwanda, and one 250g bag of Airumá from Brazil.

The Twitezimbere Farmers’ Group is a collective of 32 smallholder coffee producers in Rwanda’s Southern Province. Recently these farmers got together and decided to process and market their coffees as a small, select lot. The group’s farmers now also share resources and labour during the busy harvest period. Once picked, the farmers deliver their ripe coffee cherries to the nearby Remera washing station.

The Remera team usually centrally processes coffee from over 700 local producers, so it’s very special to be able to trace a coffee back to a small group like Twitezimbere. Selling their coffee as a distinct lot means the group’s members directly benefit from any higher prices paid specifically for their coffees, resulting in higher incomes to support their families. This provides an incentive to work together as a collective to produce the highest quality coffee possible. Judging by this coffee’s cup profile, this approach is working! In the cup, Twitezimbere is clean and complex, with notes of plum and orange, and a chocolate finish.

Airumá is a micro-lot produced by the Borré family on Progresso farm in Bahia, Brazil. We’ve been offering coffee from the Borré family since 2015, and every year they produce a stunning and diverse line-up of delicious coffees. We particularly love Airumá for its sweetness and flavour clarity in the cup.

The coffee cherries for this lot were hand-picked when perfectly ripe, and then processed using the pulped natural method: the skin and fruit of the cherry were removed, and the sticky, parchment-covered beans were soaked in water for 12 hours. The coffee was then carefully dried over a period of 38 hours. In the cup, Airumá has notes of praline and cooked apple with hazelnut.

Please note that our coffee bundles are an online exclusive offer and are not available for purchase in our shops. Coffee substitutions aren't possible, and bundles ship to one address.
