Watch – In My Blood it Runs
In My Blood It Runs is a documentary by Maya Newell that follows ten-year-old Arrernte boy, Dujuan, as he grows up in Alice Springs. We have run several screenings and discussions of this powerful film with the Market Lane team, and we highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it.
Stream the documentary on Netflix.
Read – Finding our Heart
Beautifully written by Thomas Mayor and illustrated by Blak Douglas, Finding Our Heart explains the Uluru Statement from the Heart to younger Australians. Don’t be fooled by its focus on young readers! People of all ages will benefit from reading this book and taking the time to understand the Uluru Statement.

Embark – on a walking tour
If you’re in Melbourne/Naarm, we highly recommend Yalinguth, an immersive audio experience that takes you through the Gertrude St area of Fitzroy/Ngàrgo – a significant area for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights movement. Learn from the wisdom and stories of First Nations Elders as you walk your own journey.

Next time you’re at Vic Market, stop by the new narrm ngarrgu Library and Family Services Centre in the Munro Building (just around the corner from our Queen St shop). This stunning three-storey centre features a dedicated children's library, a family services hub, a maker space, and a community rooftop terrace overlooking the market. Artist Maree Clarke has created a vibrant carpet design with the theme ‘Walking on Country’, featuring contour maps of the five Kulin nations.
