This distinctive and elegant microlot was produced at Finca Lomaverde, a farm in Antioquia owned by our good friends and longtime Colombian export partners, the Echavarría family of Pergamino Coffee.
Lomaverde was first planted with Caturra and Colombia variety coffee trees, but the family have since replaced these rarer varieties, including Chiroso. Chiroso was only recently discovered in Antioquia; no one knows how it arrived in Colombia, but testing shows that it’s an Ethiopian landrace variety (similar to Gesha). Because of its stand-out flavour, Chiroso has become celebrated and sought-after for its complex and floral cup profile.
This special lot from Lomaverde has been naturally processed, elevating its sweetness and body. The result is a unique coffee that is rich and tropical, and a joy to drink. Enjoy!
