In this bundle, you’ll get one 250g bag of Ndocha from Kenya and one 250g bag of Adorsi from Ethiopia.
Coffee production at Ndocha is a family affair. The small shamba (or “farm” in Swahili) is one of several plots that comprise a larger estate, which was first planted by Geoffrey Gachogo Karugondo’s grandparents in the 1960s, after Kenya gained independence from British rule. The estate was improved upon by his parents, who built a small wet mill on the property in the 1980s, and eventually passed it down to Geoffrey and his seven siblings, who split the land into separate shambas to grow coffee and raise livestock.
Adorsi is the first washing station that Testi Specialty Coffee purchased in Yirgacheffe, 8 years ago. It sits in a prime position to receive coffee cherry from some of the highest-positioned and best farmers in the region. Combined with Aricha’s cool climate, this allows coffee to dry slowly, and develop greater depth and sweetness.
