What does your personal coffee ritual look like? And what does it mean to you? Market Lane’s How Do You Brew? series features brilliant, unique, passionate and innovative people from our wider community – including creatives, changemakers and hospitality heroes – generously giving us a glimpse of their own special coffee moments, and sharing the rituals and meaning behind them.
Nicole Lawrence is an extremely talented furniture maker, metal fabricator and lighting designer, who produces beautiful collections of furniture and lights through her business, Nicole Lawrence Studio. Nicole also collaborates with clients, including designers and architects, to create unique custom and commissioned pieces.
A recent creative collaboration saw Nicole making beautiful vases with experimental floral artist, Hattie Molloy. At Market Lane, we’re lucky to have worked with Nicole on several bespoke industrial pieces, including shelves, product stands, our shop recycling stations, and a lovely table at our Sydney Rd shop!
Nicole’s morning routine is an important, almost sacred part of her day. She welcomed us into her gorgeous studio, in Melbourne/Naarm’s Preston neighbourhood, and chatted with us about her daily coffee ritual, her favourite way to spend a winter weekend, and her penchant for getting out of the city to give herself space to think and get inspired.
