This coffee has notes of dark chocolate and red apple with an almond finish.

This coffee was produced by Erika Meneses Vásquez on her six-hectare farm, El Rosal (which translates to ‘the rose garden’ in Spanish). Erika is an active member of AMACA (Asociación de Mujeres Productoras Agropecuarias del Cauca), an organisation founded 25 years ago to help women farmers and landowners find better opportunities for their crops.

The women of AMACA were the first in the El Tambo municipality to promote and advocate for specialty coffee production, as they understood that proper plant care and production practices would lead to higher quality coffee and more sustainable incomes. Today, AMACA stands as a symbol of empowerment, social change and community work in the region.

In her mid-20’s now, Erika has been an active member of AMACA for 11 years. Her years of experience and her meticulous approach to farming and processing have resulted in a sweet and clean coffee that showcases the region it comes from, and the hard work and care that went into its production.

El Tambo is considered one of Colombia’s richest agricultural hubs.
