This coffee tastes like cherry and apricot with a caramel finish.

Located in Colombia’s Huila state, the La Plata area has a long history of agriculture and coffee production. The region benefits from fertile volcanic soil, high elevations, an abundance of fresh, clean water and year-round cool temperatures.

Héctor Quintero grew up in La Plata and has been working in coffee for 30 years. His farm, Las Brisas (meaning ‘the breezes’ in Spanish) is just 2.4 hectares in size and is planted with coffee, as well as fruit and vegetables for Héctor and his family’s consumption. Héctor mainly grows Typica variety coffee which, along with Caturra, was propagated heavily in the 1970s and ’80s when most farms in La Plata were established.

Héctor wash-processes his coffee on-site at his farm’s small mill, which gives him great oversight of every single stage of production. This delicious coffee is bright and vibrant with notes of cherry and apricot, and a sweet caramel finish.

The verdant La Plata area is known for its long history of agriculture and coffee production.
