This coffee has a crisp stone-fruit acidity with apricot and honey.

This coffee was produced by Nery Pablo López, a proud Jakalteko Mayan man and second-generation farmer who inherited his small property when he was 20 years old. When he first took over the land, Nery noticed a Guacamaya (a local type of macaw) fluttering about, and decided to name the farm after the colourful bird. 26 years later, Nery lives at Guacamaya farm with his wife and two daughters, and they grow beans, maize and coffee, which they sell through the El Sendero Cooperative.

The El Sendero co-op has a deep connection to the local community in the Concepción Huista municipality, where Nery farms. At the beginning of each harvest season, the cooperative runs training sessions for its 635 farmers, outlining the best practices for picking and processing, which are key to the production of exceptional coffee.

Nery’s decades of dedication and experience are evident in the cup profile of this beautiful coffee – it’s sweet, rounded and balanced with a lovely stone-fruit acidity.

Nery Pablo López is a proud Jakalteko Mayan man and a second-generation coffee farmer.

Nery has lived in Concepción Huista his whole life and inherited his small property when he was 20.

The region’s high elevations, abundant fresh water and relatively predictable climate make it ideal for coffee production.
